Animated movies made with Blender

Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite widely used for making animated movies. Blender is available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. Here is a nice collection of 4 short animated movies all produced by the Blender foundation and of course all realized with this fantastic open source program.

Sintel (2010)

The film follows a girl named Sintel who is searching for a baby dragon she calls Scales. A flashback reveals that Sintel found Scales with its wing injured and helped care for it, forming a close bond with it.

Tears of Steel (2012)

The short science fiction film is about a group of warriors and scientists who gather at the “Oude Kerk” in a future Amsterdam to stage a crucial event from the past in a desperate attempt to rescue the world from destructive robots.

Big Buck Bunny (2008)

"Big" Buck wakes up in his rabbit hole, only to be pestered by three critters, Gimera, Frank and Rinky. When Gimera kills a butterfly, Buck decides on a payback Predator-style

Elephants Dream (2006)

Elephants Dream is the story of two strange characters exploring a capricious and seemingly infinite machine. The elder, Proog, acts as a tour-guide and protector, happily showing off the sights and dangers of the machine to his initially curious but increasingly skeptical protege Emo. As their journey unfolds we discover signs that the machine is not all Proog thinks it is, and his guiding takes on a more desperate aspect.
